The People Behind the Church
The Presbyterian Church is composed of countless individuals with incredible stories all contributing to the history of the church. The church saw its first growth through the spread of buildings and places of worship thanks in part to the elders like George Allen Brown who willingly volunteered to lead these new groups. As the church continued to grow, members contributed to the leadership of the church, including L.C Majors who offered direction as the Synod’s Religious Director of Texas. Others such as Dr. Harry White Myers would travel overseas and help guide future leaders such as Japanese pacifist Toyohiko Kagawa.
